Author one HTML body for variants, direct messages and replies.

Write the subject and one html body. The same body field works in campaign variants, direct messages and replies. Norbelys renders placeholders once with bounded work and output, then derives a readable plain-text MIME alternative. You do not supply a separate text field.

Send this JSON to POST https://api.norbelys.com/v1/messages with a bearer credential, Content-Type: application/json and an Idempotency-Key stable for the source event. 202 means the message was queued; the returned Location identifies it. Reuse the same key if you must retry a request whose response was lost.

HTML can be a fragment or a complete document. HTML template values are escaped, so a name containing < or & remains text. A missing value printed without default(...) or a conditional is rejected. Use person.* for a saved person, sender.* for the sending identity and variables.* for values in the request. A campaign variant may also use campaign.*, step.* and unsubscribe_url.

The plain-text alternative preserves readable paragraphs, breaks and decoded entities. The message’s identity signature and, for campaign mail, its unsubscribe link are added during preparation. Tracking rewrites apply only to the HTML part and do not change the authored destination shown in plain text. See campaign content for variants.
